45NRTH utilizes a two-piece construction method to create a reliable and high-performing bicycle tire stud, featuring a concave carbide-aluminum design. The super-sized concave crown creates open space and inside edges of the bowl, resulting in twice the surface area for increased traction and grip.

My original Dillinger 5's have only lost 2 studs in 6 years. We ride a variety of terrain, lots of steep hill climbing, about 25km per week on night rides. My new Norco Bigfoot e bike has only 7 rides on it, and I love it. No stud loss on it.

After securing all the studs with a stud tool before first use and riding on pavement to set them in, I still lost 5 per wheel on my first tame ride. This is a huge hassle and waste of time and money to deal with. That being said, they did work quite well in very icy situations. My old ice spyker pros are 4 years old and have yet to loose a stud after countless rides.

Bought for an adult bicycle so now have to spend money to ship back. I didn't know they made studs for kids bikes/or different sizes. Hard to tell in pictures and no numbers.

I was riding trails in Ketchikan and came across a big washout. 6 inches of ice.... I was able to ride across only because of these studs. Unfortunately 30% of them came out during this ride, so I had to order some replacements. I am not sure what keeps causing me to lose these studs so frequently.
