Ballet flat design is a bit dressier than sneakers to wear with dresses and skirts while traveling. Soles are shock absorbent and sturdy. They don't slip off and can be cleaned up with a damp cloth.

I have a couple of other pairs that do have the wool insole and that makes a difference. Also, the shoe is not as comfortable - don't know if the knit is different and makes it feel slippery and not as snug.
