I ordered this jacket because I was looking for a warm jacket for frosty weather. This is the Arctic model, unfortunately the name is just a marketing trick. The jacket is thin, the down thickness is comparable to the jacket of a competing company, designed according to the manufacturer for 34F (0C). But it is nicely sewn and has Goretex, so I will keep it for the winter/spring transition period. Unfortunately, it's more of a jacket for the city than for the outdoor. Attention to the size!!!! I have been working out at the gym for years and usually wear an XL. According to the TNF size chart I should order XXL (51 inches/120cm in chest). Here, with great surprise, size M fits perfectly. Product defects: - The chest pockets are very small. The size of a large cell phone, but the map will not fit. It looks like a city jacket... - the hood is not removable. - the collar is made of poor material. It completely pilled after 2 uses. - the inner material allows the down to pass through. Or rather, feathers, because the down is of poor quality and has a lot of feathers. Don't wear this jacket over a dark shirt because you'll look like you just stepped out of a henhouse.

I got this for my dad and he loves it so much. He tried this and McMurdo and this was a clear winner, lighter, but oh so warm and comfy and breathable. He wasn't sure about the fur trim at first but ended up liking it too. He needed it on short notice and so ended up getting the only size the store had which was XL, it is his usual, it fit a bit big but not prohibitively so. I subsequently searched for and bought the women's version of this jacket as I also loved it and found it lighter than the other current down parka options at North Face.
