Love it. you can leave it on the car or once you have it set up it very easy to put on and take off. Also i like that the bikes sit higher so it does not effect review camera.

I purchased the product as it has potential to be an excellent solution to not having a hitch, but also not wanting to use the roof rack for my bike. I ordered the rack to the specifications of my 2019 Volvo XC60, and unfortunately it didn't fit. The hooks don't fit at the top of the hatch. They need to really be jammed in, which was difficult to do without damaging the car. Once in, the hatch won't open without damaging the car. Could potentially be a great solution if it fit properly, which I suspect it does for some cars out there. But not for a volvo xc60.

I bought this bike rack this spring and I love it. It is mounted on a 2015 Subaru Outback, my roof rack was already loaded with a Thule Force Alpine and the two of them fit well. It cleared my back up camera and plates, bikes hold up tight on any road, take about 15 min to install and adjust and attaching the bike can be tricky sometime, but no big deal. My only negative point is that my hatch doesn't hold up open when using it (too heavy) and don't even think to open it with bike. But you adapt!

Bought this a few weeks back and very happy with the product. I recommend a second person for installation (mainly to hold the tailgate open slightly) and the rest is a breeze. The removable arms are crucial for attaching and locking your bikes securely no matter the shape of your frame. Feel sturdy and rides smooth on the back of the car. Recommend minor tightening after your first trip to make sure it is settled and secured. Highly recommend for those who don't have a hitch and need a platform style rack. There is some movement in the platform when driving over bumps, but I feel this is intentional in the design to relieve pressure off the frame. Nothing concerning!

It could work for old cars and old bikes, but not a new car and not for carbon fiber bikes. New car: Rub marks will develop in the paint in six (eight?) locations: 1, 2, 3, 4: the top and bottom of the hatch door, as the strapping stabilizes the rack based on how much torque you create as you cinch the rack down. 5 & 6: The feet that may or may not sit on the spoiler in the middle/lower part of the hatch door. 7 & 8: the spoiler adapter that potentially prevents the spoiler from bending under pressure created by the torqued straps. Not a good design for a Nissan Leaf, although you wouldn't know it by looking at Thule's fit guide (in which I could not find installation instructions). Carbon bike: The rack grips the bike on the down tube. It will crush the carbon fiber over time, as the bikes go jostling up and down dirt roads, even with the adapter they recommend. NOT a good plan. And there is the box the rack came in. 20 years ago I worked for a retailer that sold Thule products: racks and accessories. At that time, many of the boxes came from the distributor THRASHED. The cardboard they used was soft and not well adapted to the products inside. Their boxes also appeared to have been opened and taped shut a second or third time. Tape was all over the box, as if somebody had used packing tape to seal holes and reinforce the boxes. This was frequent. Our Thule rep asked us to focus on the product itself, which really was pretty well designed stuff. Fast forward 20 years. That is EXACTLY how this box was. I repacked it and sealed it with masking tape so that they cannot reuse it and send it out to the (at least) third person.

Neither the installation video nor the description convey that the rack does NOT work if you have a water cage on the downtube. You must either remove the cage entirely or remove the upper screw and turn the cage 180 degrees down. Obviously only an inconvenience (although some possibility that the cage thread will get worn or, worse, misplace the screw), but misleading advertising, IMHO. Also, carrying 2 bikes does require some advance planning so that you properly position the longer of the 2 clamps. I didn't want a hitch or roof rack or the variety that hangs the bike. I've had better prior experiences with Thule.

Works great. Very secure. Would travel a thousand miles with my bikes in tow and have no worries. It was difficult ti install though.

This piece of crap broke the first time I used it, stranding me four hours from home with no way to transport my bike. The right cable pulley stopped catching, rendering it impossible to secure the rack to the car. Ridiculous rip off.

I wanted a rack that could fit both my road and mountain bike. This mounts easy, bikes go on quickly (you do need to be able to lift your bike shoulder height). Yes, you do loose the use of your hatch, but it has been a fair compromise.
