They were very comfortable out of the box. First run, I took them for a 27 km run (700 D+) in mud,ice,now. It held well on snow and ice, but lacked a bit adherence in mud. Very good water drainage too!

In my opinion these have just the right amount of float and heel drop with a true to fit size. Only complaint is that laces are little short and would like to a waterproof version for winter trail running.
