The Psychonaut is Amplid’s adventurous all-terrain explorer, blending twin-ish powder performance with agile handling across varied conditions. Built with carbon Pop Bands for enhanced control and HEXO2 honeycomb in the nose to reduce swing weight, this board is as playful as it is powerful.
With a midwide shape for stability on groomers and a low camber profile for added float, the Psychonaut excels in cranky turns and deep powder slashes. The wingered tail is perfect for surfy powder carves, and there’s just enough tailkick for secure switch landings. BIAX GLASS
Using Biaxial Glass in the construction of our shreds gives them a flawless blend of response and playfulness whilst keeping them ridiculously lightweight.
FLOATATION TIPS
Ultra wide, low rising tips that exist purely to create lift in powder without sucking-up speed. They add a surfy feel to skis and snowboards.
HEXO2
Spin to win with effortless style. Amplid’s HEXO2 core replaces specific areas of weightier wood at the tips with featherlight honeycomb, practically eliminating swing weight.
IMPACT PADS
In the top laminate we have added multidirectional glass pads in the binding area, to avoid dings caused by the pointy corners of binding bases. These pads enhance durability while only adding minimal weight.
LITE CORE
Uber light wood varieties are cut, treated and aligned in a way only our factory knows. Its strength to weight ratio has scientists baffled.
SHRED READY
Boards come factory-tuned with two Scotch wax runs and a 90°/0° edge setup, leaving all options open for customizing your own edge angles.
SINTERED BASE
Amplid’s ultra-high density sintered base goes like shit-off-a-shovel in all snow conditions. It is extremely hard and therefore more resistant to damage.
THICK CUT
Thick Cut Cores feature a thicker profile in the tip and tail to suit a wider range of rider physiques, reduce vibrations, increase targeted stiffness, and enhance float, control, and stability in deep snow.
BEZIÈR CURVES
We replace standard radii with Beziér curves in our sidecut and nose design, allowing us to precisely calculate the core’s flex curve for the most harmonious ride imaginable.
CARBON POP BAND
A narrow band of uni-directional carbon stringers that run through the centreline of a ski or snowboard from tip-to-tail increasing pop and extending flex memory without altering torsional stiffness.
