My groundhogs kept escaping because the loop was too big for them.

A good small stake for the money. Far better than less expensive softer aluminum as they resist bending. The cord loops add functionality for pulling and for toggling. I've equipped all three tents with them as well as 3 tarps.

I have pitched tent over 100 times this past 18 months and the only stakes which have held up though high winds and have never bent are these. I have read numerous positive reviews and I can only agree. Highly recommended.

I use these stakes for my pyramid tarp shelter, which sets up with a single central trekking pole and four corners and four sides staked out. Well engineered triangular beam design gives superior grip in all ground types. They always feel more secure than cylindrical peg stakes. The notch near the top allows a perfect grip for standard 3 mm diameter guy line and any thinner ultralight guy line. Now lighter, and even more worth the extra fraction of an ounce. Highly recommended stakes for holding power in high wind.

this is the third set of the msr groundhog stakes i've ordered. i've used them in multiple soils: clay; dry; wet; sand; and mud. they provide excellent stability and do not pull out, even in high winds. i've also pounded them in with sticks, rocks and boots without deforming or bending the stakes. they're ultralight as well, making them perfectly suited for backpacking.

Seem very well made. They cost more than the off brand of similar design, but seem to be made from a sturdy alloy. I purchased these for use in softer dirt, and use slender spike type for hard rocky soil.

I purchased these stakes to replace stakes on an existing tent. I have used them on several trips including a 12 day trek. The stakes held very well in a variety of soils. I was able to drive them into some hard soil without trouble and no bending (unlike stakes that come with tents). The string attached to the ends was very convenient for removing the stakes when I had driven them deep into the ground.
