    Description

When you’re on the trail, sleep isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. Getting the most from your experience in the mountains requires enough rest to be fully present, and few things are more essential for a night of rejuvenating sleep than a good pad. Built on our iconic proprietary Spaceframe™ baffle construction, Tensor™ offers quiet, supportive comfort in an ultralight package. The internal architecture provides unparalleled stability and weight distribution, using low-stretch die-cut trusses to eliminate springiness while protecting elbows and hips from poking through to the ground. A new internal layer of ultra-thin film reduces convection currents and adds R-value.

Insulated versions utilize multiple layers of suspended Thermal Mirror™ metallized film, resulting in a lighter, remarkably quiet sleeping pad compared to the competition. Tensor™ now features 100% bluesign® certified, recycled 20D polyester fabrics. It comes with our Vortex™ pump sack which mates with our custom Laylow™ zero-profile valve for easy inflation and personalized comfort. If having your best adventure depends on good sleep, Tensor™ has the perfect formula.

I've used this sleeping pad for approx 30 nights on 3 separate trips. Generally, I love it! It's comfortable, warm, compact and lightweight and not as noisy as some others I've used in the past. The downsides: It is ultralight material which equals a certain level of fragility, but not a big issue if used with a groundsheet or inside a bivy sack. Where it becomes a problem is pulling the plug to inflate/deflate the pad. The cap can be sticky and difficult to remove, and it attached to a separate piece of fabric from the valve body. This resulted in mine tearing when the stubborn plug finally popped out. A good design change would be to have the plug/cap security strap attach to the valve body itself, or go with a different valve that doesnt need the cap. Currently have a warranty request in and hope to hear back from Nemo staff soon.

I've had this sleeping pad for years but I'm coming back to give this another review because I have recently found another type of use for it. I travel for work several times per year and I don't get a say in which hotel is booked for our group. I also have autoimmune disease which means that even in the best of times my joints are a bit stiff and sore, and after a night on a hard hotel mattress I feel like I've been hit by a truck. Have you ever tried to paying attention to 8 hours of PowerPoint presentations on hardly any sleep? So on my last trip I packed my Nemo and when I got to my room I inflated it and put it under the fitted sheet to keep it in place. Huge improvement! I will now be taking my tensor on camping trips and hotel trips just in case. Thank you Nemo!

I used this pad for 2198.4 miles on my 2023 NOBO thru hike of the AT. It had a slow leak but who cares. I'll find the small leak and fix it and it'll be an even better pad. This pad is awesome and so comfortable. I mistakenly bought an uninsulated pad but never had an issue when temps dropped into the teens. This pad served me well. One thing, I'm a tall guy at 75 inches so I bought the long wide. Didn't need it, I'm going to buy a regular soon which will save weight. Again, thanks Nemo and this AT thru hiker appreciates this pad and 100% recommend this product.

I have the regular wide since I'm a side sleeper, very comfortable, warm during those cold nights. Used for a 2 nights best experience compared to others I used in past. Next trip, first night, just inflated and had a big puncture on the top, very disappointing, the material does not seem durable at all, now I'm scared to take it on multi day hikes. It could have been the one but not to be.

Wind River for 6 days here are my thoughts: quiet, warm, comfortable, mummy was wide enough at shoulders, as light as other options, pump sack was worth the weight. I had to do infield repair a cut because I sat on something sharp that punctured it.

I want to say that I am coming from a Nemo Switchback (accordion style) pad and my life has been changed again. I remember sleeping on a foam pad for the first time(vs the ground) and I couldn't believe you could get such a good nights sleep outdoors. The Tensor is light, quiet and warm. I love the pump sack that prevents you from exhausting your lungs after an already hard trek. Everything folds down nice and compact for my 50L backpacking setup. AND Lifetime warranty! Can't wait to get this thing deep into the backcountry on some thru-hikes.

The good: One of the more comfortable pads I have used ever, super light and when rolled up is one of the smallest pads out there, so it does not take up too much space inside your pack. The bad: Lots of holes the last few months, after 18 months of using this pad and about 100 nights out on it, i've put 10 patches on it, and it will still no longer hold air. which is a far cry from one of my older Nemo Tensor Insulated Pads which has been going strong for more than 5 years. I was super bummed to toss this pad, but I think I am done with NEMO for a bit till they fix their manufacturing/materials/quality control problems around these.
