Many similar low-top hikers exist, but few with GoreTex and none with Salomon's perfected fit. My 3rd pair of Salomon's and impressed with consistent fit/comfort straight out of the box. New lacing system is surprisingly easy to love, too!

Bought for my husband. He liked the waterproof nature of the shoes, however the right shoe really pinched into his foot, like hard plastic. Similar in second shoe. Returning to try a different waterproof shoe.

Had a pair of the of the X Ultra 4 for a while now and so far they are holding up, fit comfortably and are very light. I have not done a serious hike yet but they seem like they will be good. Long term durability will be the test…

Bought my first pair of Salomon not knowing how comfortable they would be. They're comfortable but at the same time they're not either. They hit me in the arch of the right foot on the left side of my right foot and I've noticed there not really breaking in to make it more comfortable. Must be how the boot/ shoe is designed. Other than that they seem like a decent shoe and they look great. Just not to sure if I'd purchase again.

They last well, are comfortable, lightweight and properly waterproof. They also look pretty good. However, they do tend to come loose after a few km and require regular re-tightening which can be frustrating.
