I bought these socks for use at work in my boots (military aircrew). They are quite thick which will be great in cold weather, I think they are too thick for work socks unless you live in a really cold area year round. However, I wear a size 12 so on the size chart I am in between L and XL. All my other SW socks are XL and fit great, these are huge so my advice is go one size down if you are anywhere near the cut off. Pretty disappointed in the guarantee which states " So if, for any reason, you aren't completely happy with your Smartwool® gear within two years of purchasing, we'll get you into some new gear. No problem." SW denied my warranty claim and did not "get me into some new gear. No problem". The size chart on this sock is inaccurate on the too big side.

I am currently breaking in a new pair of work boots and these are cushioning my feet nicely! I really like these socks, very soft but lots of cushioning, not so tight to cut off circulation but they stay put over my calf. So far I am very pleased with the purchase!

I mainly wear these while working when it's cold. They are very comfortable, I am currently breaking in a new pair of boot and these socks are helping tremendously with all the cushion they have. They are definitely over my calf and stay up just right. Very warm socks too!
