I loved this vest. I bought in December 2021, but in March 2025, I noticed one of the back seams was separating. Unfortunately, I was outside the 2 year warranty period. I only wore casually (not hiking or running) about 3 months of each year (I'm from warmer climates). Always washed by itself, delicate mode, without an agitator in washer. I was very disappointed to see the seam splitting, especially for the high price.

I purchased this product for complementing a long sleeve active base layer for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing. I wore recently on a high intensity snowshoe backpack in really cold temps, but not cold enough for an outer layer during hike in. When temps dipped down to 0F into the night, the vest also provided a nice additional layer of warmth in my sleeping bag. Vests are a perfect addition for this kind of use, and the smartwool smartloft vest didn't disappoint. The merino blended shell, liner, and insulation did a great job with wicking and breathability, while also locking in my core warmth during high intensity snowshoeing. Love this vest and so happy with my purchase.

I purchased this instead of a puffer vest and have been surprised how warm it is in spite of its light weight. I would definitely purchase it again. I am 5 feet 186 pounds. The large size is a snug but comfortable fit.

Works as a great mid layer for skiing. Construction is top notch as per usual. (I'm a former football player & Army scout and I have broad shoulders) The fit is a bit snug for a 2X, especially around the midsection. I assume the change in fit makes it warmer as it's closer to the body. No issues other than that. I'd I'll buy another one.

According to the model size I could've gone with the medium, but I didn't trust it so went with the large. Fits perfect. Medium would've been way too tight. Great vest! Perfect for the golf course on cool mornings.
