I use mine for hiking / trekking tours (together with the Master Unbreakable Food Jar), and at work. The built quality and thermal insulation performance is fantastic! If I may quote Oscar Wilde: "I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best." ;-) My only point of criticism is the much higher price here in Germany, but it is definitely worth the money.

Didn't expect 40 hours, but expected better heat retention than my cheap 20 year old thermos. Preheated with boiling water. Coffee was barely warm when the thermos, left at room temperature (70+ degrees), was next opened about 20 hours later.

Excellent….When filled with boiling water it keeps it HOT for a very long time, and I can make hot chocolate and instant soup hours later, or even the next day…….…I imagine filling only partway or using some of the water will cut down on the length of time, as cooler air will be introduced into the space….That has not been an issue, as I have not taken it on multiday trips….I use only for hot water since it is so large that I could not drink that much chocolate or coffee alone, but for two or more people, filling it with a pre made beverage is an option….

The stopper on master series thermos broke within about 3 months. It has never been subjected to any abuse. The rubber and stainless steel part separates from the rest of the stopper and stays in the bottle. Must have been cheep Chinese sylicone?
