I bought this as an all duty duffle bag which you just sling arround your shoulder. This is an oversized back pack, not a duffle bag! Its uncomfortable, the zips are diifficult to operate. There is no strap to hold the bag, only the back pack harnesses.

I've got the large model which I love, but be aware that this bag does not have carrying handles as you would expect. It's got detachable shoulder straps to make it into a back pack and a grab handles in the end, but no conventional carrying handles like every other bag I've ever owned

This time around, I purchased the small got a great sale on it and took a vantage of it. I have three of these over the years. I must've had a total of 40 of them trade them and give them away as Christmas gifts and birthday gifts brand new this is the most reliable bag you'll ever need. I will point out. It is stiff. The zippers are good. What I would suggest is if you're gonna use these wonderful ruffles I would definitely purchase packing cubes, especially if you carry electronics all the best, my friends please stay safe.

The zipper is very stiff and difficult to use. The bag itself is also very stiff for a duffel bag. In cold weather i expect the inner lining of this bag will crack. I have returned the bag for a refund.

This is my second duffel bag from the North Face and very likely not my last one! I love the product, you can use this size as a carry-on on an airplane and it is so spacious! Used it for my recent weekend trip and still had space for some shopping! On top of that, it is durable with high quality material and zippers.

I have seven different TNF duffels, they are great for travelling, however it is worth knowing that they have SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the quality of these bags over time. I have some bags >15 years old still going strong and on purchasing new ones it is really noticeable how the quality has degraded. They switched the substance they impregnate the bags with to a more green/low oil version and it is thinner, shinier and clearly less durable. This is based upon feel, but also very clearly on the stitching. On my old bags at the reinforcement points the stitching goes through one layer of the fabric and has held up fine over years of travelling. The newer bags all have poorly cut and ugly reinforcements patching in a second later of fabric where the stitching is, this is clearly required due to the poorer quality. I still rate these bags, but they no longer offer the value they once did.

I ended up returning. The duffle is constructed of a stiff plastic. The bag needs more outside pockets for extra storage of small items, phone, wallet… etc.. It is also very pricy for plastic. I really liked the color though.
