Cheaply made. Poor design. Overpriced. TNF used to lead the industry. Sad. Drafty bag with low quality down.

Comments about Blue Kazoo Sleeping Bag

North Face is fashion, gone is the rugged quality. White sleeping bags w/ few selections, no, full length zipper for venting foot box. This is not a 20 degree bag. You have to not use it for a return.

I purchased my previous North Face bag in 1998 and it's still going strong, but my wife pinched it! I searched for a long time for a 3 season sleeping bag, made a duff choice on another make that was nowhere near a 3 season rating, so went back to North Face and delighted with the Blue Kazoo. I do a lot of lightweight hiking and this is lightweight, packs well and true to its rating. As soon as I received it I could see the quality. The zip doesn't snag, it's so comfortable, the material feels soft and smooth inside, now thinking about a Green Kazoo for winter hiking. Highly recommended.

Comments about Blue Kazoo Sleeping Bag

As people in the reviews before said, this bag is terrible. I was cold at 40F. It has huge gaps, and there's no way it's 700 fill down. Packs light, but has no warmth and made cheaply. Disappointed.

Comments about Blue Kazoo Sleeping Bag

I am surprised of the multiple one-star reviews complaining about the lack of down in certain areas of the bag. This is actually the strength of this bag, as in have more insulation in the top where it is needed and less in the bottom where it is not (but it's not empty in the bottom neither), similar to quilts. This is how they made a -7C bag at 816 grams (on my scale), unless they make it very restrictive or use very expensive 900+ down. So know what the bag is about, and it will work great if you don't move too much at night or if you can turn inside the bag without turning the bag. I spent 2 nights in -5 to 0C conditions on a glacier with no issue with the bag.

Comments about Blue Kazoo Sleeping Bag

I used a brand new Blue Kazoo, long size for car camping (slept in a tent) in the Sierra Nevada last fall at 7,000 feet and froze in it Only slept in it for a few hours - luckily my camping party had an extra much older Blue Kazoo bag and I slipped into it and slept warm for the rest of the night. A close inspection of the new bag next morning revealed very little goose down in the channels and the draft tube. Daylight was clearly visible through the shell of the bag in all channels. The bag was defective, Obviously the bag was not providing insulation according to its rating/specification of 15 degrees Fahrenheit in 50 degrees weather. Now I am faced with the challenge of trying to return the bag (practically brand new) to the North Face, but I had bought it over one year before I used it for the first time, and I am not sure I have the sales receipt. Do not buy this model - very bad craftmanship.

Comments about Blue Kazoo Sleeping Bag

Took this sleeping bag with me to Big Sur for the weekend. It can run a bit hot if you're not within the 20-30 degree threshold, but it's held up well and given me a good nights sleep. Exactly what I was looking for in a light weight sleeping bag. I wish it packed down smaller but I still have plenty of room for other gear.
